ECG has prepared the document “e-CMR. Guidance notes for operators.” The purpose of this publication is to provide information and guidance for those carriers who do not have a system necessary to produce and manage e-CMR internally and therefore need to use a third party service provider to fulfil the requirements for e-CMR and enable them to move towards paperless deliveries across Europe. This document focuses on one service provider, TransFollow, as at the time of publication they appear to be the most advanced and are known to ECG through the International Road Transport Union (IRU). The document briefly explains how TransFollow’s electronic platform works, what is needed to run it, its benefits and entailed costs.
